Chess

Chess is offered as a lunchtime club for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. This allows students to pursue an area of passion whilst developing and improving problem solving skills. 

St Michaels Catholic Primary School Stanmore Band

Band and Choir

Students from Years 3–6 have the opportunity to join the school band, run by Teaching Service Australia. This is open for students of all proficiency levels with junior and senior band, as well as small group and individual instruction available. The band performs throughout the year to the whole school to showcase their abilities.

Sport

We employ a specialist sport teacher who delivers the NSW curriculum in an engaging way. There are also various sporting organisations employed to deliver specialist programs including dance, gymnastics, martial arts and swimming. The students have various opportunities throughout the year to participate in sporting events across schools including gala days and cluster events.

Mandarin

Students at  St Michael’s Catholic Primary School Stanmore engage in the study of Mandarin. Mandarin Chinese is the most widely-spoken language in the world. Students are provided with opportunities that involve the integration of listening, speaking, reading, viewing, creating and writing in Mandarin.

Robotics and Coding

Students from Years 3 to 6 can be part of the Robotics and Coding club. This club supports and extends the skills students develop through the Science curriculum. Students are engaged in team work, problem solving and critical thinking. There are also opportunities for some students to participate in competitions involving schools across NSW.

Our specialist teacher provides opportunities for students to explore and develop skills across the various domains of the Creative and Practical Arts.
