By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. Authentic learning is central to our work as Catholic educators because it promotes the continual growth and wellbeing of the whole person — spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically.

Learning ApproachAt St Michael’s Catholic Primary School Stanmore, we offer a curriculum that is differentiated and centred on the child. Recognising that students learn, grow and achieve at different rates, we have placed a strong focus on the use of data to assess, identify and target the specific learning needs of students.

To effectively deliver this approach, all our staff are committed to professional learning focusing on improving student learning growth and outcomes. Through various teaching and learning strategies, our aim is to continue to create and differentiate classroom programs to extend, enrich and develop students’ gifts and talents.
